Solar Array

In 2010 Tubbs Brothers installed a 19.8kw solar array to provide clean power to our Collision Center. The system consists of 3 sets of panels tied to 3 Sunny Boy inverters. The system is also tied into the DTE grid so that during off hours excess power is fed back to DTE for use by other consumers. During peak efficiency the system supplies nearly 100% of the power needed to run our Collision Center. As of March 2013, we have generated 64,000 kw of power and kept over 110,000 lbs of carbon from being released into the atomosphere. Watch the video for a more detailed explanation of the system.

Waste Oil Heating

Tubbs Brothers first began recycling waste oil for heating purposes in 1993. Our first use was to provide heat in our Service Department using Clean Burn forced air heating systems. When we expanded our Service Department by adding a drive through service write up area and a 2 lane Valvoline Quick Lube in 2003, we chose to heat those areas with hot water, in floor heat generated by waste oil boilers. We are now 100% self sufficient when supplying heat to our Service Department and Quick Lube.
